The renowned Rolls-Royce brand not only produces luxury cars costing millions, aero engines and solutions for the energy sector. The British group in fact also has a worldwide marine division that supplies naval vessels and the commercial shipbuilding industry with a wide range of technological equipment.
Niebuhr Gears has been a supplier to Rolls-Royce for more than ten years, and in 2015 we were appointed as a preferred supplier to the marine sector. This means that Niebuhr Gears is seen as a reliable partner in all respects, who the decision makers at Rolls-Royce can contact when they are looking for new gear solutions.
Niebuhr Gears supplies extra strong cylindrical gears for winches used on so-called ROV (Remote Operated Vessels). These are underwater vessels that are remote controlled from large ships. The vessels make use of sound waves to locate oil deposits over a 20 km2 surface of the seabed.
