OUR ACADEMY EQUIPS OUR EMPLOYEES TO THE TEETH

Manufacturing gears is extremely complicated and as a manufacturer of gears you never stop learning. Niebuhr Gears is the leading specialist in the market, which means we must improve our skills all the time. So, we are continuously striving to develop our employees’ knowledge and competencies. For the same reason we have established the Niebuhr Academy, where we offer a wide range of training programs to our apprentices, industrial technicians and seconded employees.

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS

It is important for Niebuhr to train apprentices and thus contribute to the industry. This is why we have many apprentices who are all given a high priority. Both young people and adults can become apprentices at Niebuhr, or via employment as an unskilled worker. You will receive a wide range of training that provides great flexibility moving forward.

Our apprentices work mainly as industrial technicians and spend time in all our departments: maintenance, quality, turning, milling, gear hobbing, grinding and shipping. This way we are able to give our apprentices an exciting, varied and practical education in the multifaceted fields of industrial technology. As an additional bonus, and provided the practical training period is completed satisfactorily, you will have an opportunity to spend five weeks at our Chinese factory.

As well as industrial technicians, we are also approved to train automation technicians. Since robots are a large part of our production, as an automation technician apprentice we will provide you with a wide and comprehensive training program in the maintenance and repair of our production equipment. You will also be a part of the process by developing new robot installations for the production machines.

Niebuhr Gears is also represented on the Forging and Industrial Techniques Training Committee at Herningsholm Vocational School, working to develop the programs that the school offers.

IN-HOUSE TRAINING

At Niebuhr, we have an in-house training program covering e.g. gearwheel theory, quality awareness, measuring techniques and measuring tools. The instructors are Niebuhr experts within the individual areas. On-the-job training is also given a high priority as part of our competence development program.

EXTERNAL TRAINING 

Niebuhr Gears offers various external courses to its employees. We have prepared a course catalogue where, by agreement with management, our employees can select the courses which are relevant to them. The idea is that training each individual is the only way in which we can become ever more professional in the way we work. Professional courses as well as cooperation and management courses are available.

Niebuhr Gears is also active in the UddannelsesNetværket (training network), where leading iron and steel companies collaborate on developing and holding relevant courses.
