CUSTOMER
SISU Axles produces axles and differentials for heavy-duty trucks, military vehicles and container handling vehicles. They are known for their ability to deliver customized vehicles for heavy transport such as timber, gravel and dirt.
THE CHALLENGE
SISU was challenged to find a production partner who could produce both oblique and cylindrical gears so that SISU could concentrate on other areas of transmission production.
SISU wanted a partner that could focus their efforts on transmission production. This area of expertise is so specialized that it was impossible for SISU to continuously maintain the required and updated knowledge within their own organization. This meant that they were not making optimal use of their machines.
THE SOLUTION
SISU decided to outsource their entire transmission production to Niebuhr Gears.
We bought their gear hobbing machines and moved them from Finland to Denmark.
This created a systematic and strategic alliance between SISU and Niebuhr with a variety of innovations and solutions for different types of trucks.
